We need to step up and make reform to gambling advertising

It's time for us all to stand with the Alliance for Gambling Reform as they push our government to do the right thing by our community and our children and commit to banning all gambling advertising.

80% of people say they don't want to see these ads on our screens so why aren't we doing more?

In light of what's playing out federally, it's time for us to revisit our gambling advertising codes of practice and implement measures suggested by the former gambling commissioner, last year. We backed away from changes following consultation because gambling providers, media organizations and the government were concerned about placing SA at a competitive disadvantage with our interstate counterparts and because of negative revenue impacts for all 3.

But at what cost to the community?

We have a long history of going it alone and leading the way here in SA - we need our premier to step up and further restrict gambling ads in SA!
