Taking Action After Tragedy

Last night’s ABC Adelaide story on Michelle Foster’s tragic death is a heartbreaking reminder of the cracks in our mental health and justice systems.

After meeting with Michelle’s family, I’m introducing changes to South Australia’s High Risk Offender legislation to include individuals with severe mental illness who pose a public risk.

This is a simple but critical step to help prevent tragedies like this. We cannot allow more families to suffer because of systemic failures. It’s time for action.
